= Server/Client Hardware = [[TracNav(TracNav/TOC)]] == Intro == I started to develop and run DomotiGa on a normal x86 computer which worked fine but uses al lot of energy 24/7. After that the first Asus EEEBox showed up with the Atom N270 processor, I used that for a year without any problems. They where all running the Ubuntu x86 Desktop, installed as explained [wiki:Linux/InstallOS here] and [wiki:Gambas/Install here]. Then I bought an ASRock 330 nettop and [wiki:HardwareUsed/ShuttleX50 Shuttle X50], which had the newer dualcore N330 Atom CPU. Installing 64 Bits Ubuntu and Gambas on it showed some bugs, which are all fixed now, so you can run Gambas and DomotiGa on 64 bits machines/os without problems too. Now I run and develop DomotiGa on my custom build NAS, read [wiki:HardwareUsed/NAS here] how to build one yourself. A few months back I split up DomotiGa in !DomotiGaServer and DomotiGa (GUI), which make it possible to run the CLI DomotiGa on much smaller less powerfull hardware, for example on the [wiki:Domotiga/ELS1700 CER ELS1700] and the [wiki:HardwareUsed/NLSU2 Linksys NSLU2], the last one has ARM architecture so you have to use the very latest Gambas code, to make sure you have all the ARM related bugfixes. == Resources == * [http://event.asus.com/eeepc/microsites/eeebox/en/index.html Asus eeebox Site] * [http://global.shuttle.com/product_detail.jsp?PI=1241 Shuttle X50 Site]
