Install Linux OS

I will describe a Debian/Ubuntu setup from scratch, other distributions are similar and you can find notes how to install it for those on the  Gambasdoc Wiki

Ubuntu Install

Download the CD ISO  here you can select the 64bit version on the bottom of that page if you want that, or simple go for the default 32bit version. After download burn it on a CD, and boot your system with it.

If you don't have a CD-ROM or DVD drive attached to your server you can create a boot-able USB key with the use of the tool  UNetbootin
Select 9.04 Live_CD from the Distro list.

If you have an Asus eee-box use  this guide to create a bootable USBkey. If you have a Asus eee-pc install  Easy Peasy on it.

After the default install procedure (search the web if you don't know how to complete this step) you end up with a basic desktop environment. Now update all the packages with the update manager, reboot and continue on the Gambas Install page here ...
